What a Wednesday!

Thank you to those of you who are staying home as per AHS protocols. We know it's hard to be away, but we are all working together to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible!

Highlights from our learning today:
  • In math we learned about the value of numbers in place value (e.g. a 4 in the 10s column means a value of 40, but a 4 in the 100s column means a value of 400!)
  • We sorted pictures into animals, food, buildings, transportation, landscapes, and more! (Taylor)
  • For science, we used the computers to learn about animal adaptations (Natalie)
    • adaptations are what they do to protect themselves (Norah)
    • Body Coverings:
      • fish have body coverings to protect themselves in the water (Declan)
      • turtles have hard shells to protect themselves (Malcolm)
    • Behaviours:
      • rattlesnakes use their tails to warn enemies (Aiden)
      • skunks scare away their predators with a smell (Chasity)
    • Body Parts:
      • fish have gills to breathe underwater (Kiana)
      • pikas have sharp teeth to bite off plants and keep them to eat in winter (Aykut)
